Back in 1997, Director Mimi Leder, legendary producer Branko Lustig (Schindler's List) and the DreamWorks production team spent four months scouting Eastern Europe searching for the perfect location for one of cinema's most thrilling scenes. They needed a mountain bridge spanning a deep ravine, and they found it right here, in the mountains of Macedonia. That bridge became the backdrop for one of the most climactic moments in The Peacemaker, where helicopters hunt down terrorists in a breathtaking high-speed chase. A scene that put this hidden Macedonian road on the Hollywood map. But long before and long after the cameras left, motorcyclists have been coming from all over the world to experience what this road truly offers. Tight twisties, dramatic mountain scenery, and that one iconic bridge that once starred alongside George Clooney on the big screen.
