A compilation of clips taken by myself or a family member of railroading action of the Minnesota Transportation Museum. Clips date from 2015-2019. For more information...visit www.trainride.org MTM, as far as the railroad is concerned, operates in two locations. The Jackson Street Roundhouse sees year-round railroad activity (including weekly caboose rides), while the Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway operates May - October every year, since the 1990s. Clips of both are seen in the video. The video also shows clips of Great Northern 400 (Hustle Muscle) and Soo Line 2500, both of which call Duluth home as of 2020.The GN 400 was displayed at MTM from 2000 until its engine replacement in 2019, after-which it returned to Duluth, where it called home in the 1980s and 1990s. The Hustle Muscle is owned by the Great Northern Railway Historical Society, and was leased to MTM in the clips. Soo 2500 meanwhile made a special, one-time trip to Osceola for a special charter, unfortunately, during that time Soo Line 559, owned by MTM was out of service at the time (2015-2019). Soo 559 being out of service led to GN 400 joining the Osceola fleet for 2015 and 2016, 2017's crankshaft failure made 400 unable to operate at Osceola for what likely would've been a 2-year extension to operations at Osceola. Never the less, clips of MTM's own equipment, including ex-N&W 3110, BN 6234, GN (BN) 325 and Soo 559 make appearances in addition to the special appearances of GN 400 and Soo 2500. For horn fans, 6234 and 325 have had a few different horns over the years. BN 6234 - RS3K, P3 (current) GN 325 - K5HLB, RS3K, P3, K3LA (current) GN 400 - K3LA (current) Soo 559 - S5T (current) Soo 2500 - M3, A200? (current) Because I have been an active volunteer at MTM, there are fewer clips, as much of my time at MTM is spent running the trains instead of filming them. At the end is a bonus clip of a CP ballast train departing Dresser, WI. Currently, there are plans (and fundraising) to repaint BN SDP40 325 back into Great Northern "Big Sky Blue" colors, donations can be made here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/return-gre... ^PLEASE DONATE!^ Also, there are a number of restoration projects at MTM. Included is a lengthy list of exciting passenger cars, but notable on the restoration list is GN 454-A, a GN F7, LST&T 101, an NW2, and Great Northern 558 (BN 6008), an SD7.
