These fritters with crispy exterior & soft interior is the delicacy of southern region. These can be prepared easily during jackfruit season. Traditional Jackfruit Fritters | Gariyo | Jackfruit Mulka | Jackfruit sweets | Mangalorean style Jackfruit Fritters Here is a simple, easy recipe to prepare this delicious snack. 1 cup Idli Rice (soaked for 3 hours) 1 cardamom 1 tsp salt 1/2 cup Jaggery 3/4 cup grated coconut 1 cup jackfruit pods ( deseeded & roughly chopped) can add 1/4 tsp pepper powder 2 tbsp Rice flour to thicken the batter(if required ) Oil is required for frying (*use jaggery as per your choice. Sweet jackfruit needs less jaggery) METHOD: Soak rice for minimum 2 hours Add the ingredients mentioned above to the mixer grinder and grind without adding water to a smooth thick paste. Ground rice paste. Heat oil & drop small portion little by little to the medium hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pan. Fry on a medium flame stirring occasionally. Fry till it turns slightly golden brown. Remove & drain excess oil. Place them on an absorbent paper. Delicious gariyos are ready to serve. Serve hot or cold. Its super delicious.
