April is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS), and Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP) with extensive experience as a mental health therapist. She provides individual, child, adolescent, and family therapy with a specialization in grief and bereavement, including anticipatory grief, end-of-life support, and navigating complex loss. Her background in hospice and medical social work has equipped her with the ability to assess and address the emotional, psychological, and practical needs of patients and families during critical life transitions. She also brings experience in inpatient care management, comprehensive psychosocial assessments, and trauma-informed clinical practice. In addition to her grief expertise, April’s training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist includes working with clients experiencing PTSD, military trauma, medical trauma, and chronic pain, with a strong emphasis on psychoeducation about the neurobiology of trauma. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms—including veterans and military families. As a military spouse of nearly 20 years, she approaches military-related trauma work with personal insight and deep compassion. She also incorporates meditative and mind-body techniques to support stress reduction and emotional regulation. Beyond trauma work, April provides guidance for individuals managing ADHD, academic stressors, and school-related challenges, including IEP and education advocacy to ensure children and families receive equitable support.
