Winter can be one of the hardest times of year to stay motivated as a photographer. The light is limited, the weather is cold, and motivation to go out with a camera can feel low. In this video, I spend two winter days photographing — one dull and overcast, the other cold with blue skies — and share what catches my eye along the way. There’s no plan, no pressure to come back with “good” photos, just the act of going out and paying attention. This video isn’t about winter photography tips or telling you what to shoot. It’s about mindset, noticing small details, and reconnecting with photography during the winter months when inspiration feels harder to find. If you’re struggling with photography motivation in winter, or finding it difficult to pick up your camera at this time of year, I hope this video offers some quiet encouragement to go out anyway.
