FIN-RPMD-Explorer, a tribute to Inertial Navigation in early Tornado

A tribute to the 1970ties navigation suite of the Panavia Tornado aircraft: The Ferranti FIN1010 inertial navigation system and the moving map display (RPMD) from the front cockpit. Shown is the INS in action, including a the gimbals flipping and the RPMD showing the map accordingly. Everything is controlled by a homebrew box, replacing the black boxes I do not have got. In contrast to the famous Litton LN-3, the FIN1010 already employs analog and digital computer technology, is highly compact (single self contained box) and more accurate by at least a factor of two.
