You wake up in the night to the sounds of crashing waves and deafening thunder. After spending so many years at sea you got used to all kinds of clamor and rattle and still could sleep through entire night like a baby. But tonight was different. The ship was tossed in strong wind like a banner. With a heavy feeling in your chest you look around the crew compartment and notice how strangely quiet it is. You squint in the dark trying to catch the sign of breath or movement of your fellow sailors. Complete silence. The compartment is empty. Concerned, you dress up in a rush and head out looking for any living soul. Not even once you stumble on anybody at all. The ship seems to be abandoned. Even the captain's cabin is empty... You feel the wave of terror rising in you. A million questions surging through your brain. Desperate, you get out on the deck ready to face the anger of the weather. The sky was heavy and dark but every time the lightning struck it got so bright it was painful to look at. The waves under very strong wind were crashing against the wooden hull like they were trying to crash it to pieces. Overwhelmed and all soaked in sea water suddenly you felt frozen. It wasn't the thunderstorm that made you feel so perplexed. It was the sound of sweet voices calling out to you through heavy rain and thunder... You could hear the choir of those angelic female voices in your head so clearly as they were standing right in front of you. Then you remembered the tales of old sailors about sirens, magical sea creatures, celestial in their beauty and just as deadly to any mortal man. You're trying to get those voices out of your head before you fall under their spell. You turn around and suddenly see strong figure of your captain standing by the helm. With incredible sense of relief you rush towards him loudly calling his name. But the captain stood against the wind like an immovable statue. And before you could reach him the most unthinkable thing happened. The captain just let go of the wheel and threw himself into the sea. Horror-stricken, you witnessed your captain being swallowed by the dark abyss. And the last thing you could see was the silver tail vanishing under thundery waves. You look up and see ghostly silhouette of rocky shores right in front of you. The hit is gonna be inevitable and deadly. The last thing you see is shadowy female figures and hundreds of piercing cold and hungry eyes glowing in the dark, all fixed on you.
