I visited Kiswa Factory in Makkah 🕋 @ramsha.sultan.khan 🕋✨ Everything You Need to Know About the Kiswa – The Covering of the Kaaba The Kiswa is the majestic 🖤 black silk cloth that covers the holy Kaaba in Makkah. It is embroidered with Qur’anic verses using threads of real gold and silver 🪡✨. More than just fabric, it’s a symbol of Islamic dignity, unity, and deep spiritual reverence. Made in the official Kiswa Factory in Makkah 🇸🇦, this sacred cloth is crafted using around 670 kg of pure silk 🧵 and 120 kg of gold-plated silver thread 🪙. Over 200 skilled artisans 👨‍🏭 work for nearly 10 months with precision and love to complete it. The Kiswa is designed in 4 large panels to cover all sides of the Kaaba, along with a beautifully embroidered door curtain called the Sitara 🚪. The golden band that runs across it is known as the Hizam, which carries powerful verses like Surah Ikhlas and La ilaha illallah ✨📿. It is replaced every year on 9th Dhul Hijjah 🗓️ during Hajj, when millions of pilgrims are standing at Arafat.
