"He tried to change me and not what had happened to me." Kelsey Nass, a student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, discusses her personal experience with sexual assault and dealing with officials in higher education. She talks about how rape is not treated like the crime it is and how we must rebrand our rhetoric of sexual assault at the university and societal levels. Kelsey Nass is a sophomore at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and originally from Rockville Center, New York. She’s currently pursuing a BDIC degree in Integrated Marketing Communications with hopes of a career in Public Relations. She is the president of the University of Massachusetts’s Sigma Delta Tau chapter and is a social justice intern on campus, strongly advocating for sexual assault prevention and awareness. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
