Are you a conservation biologist from Southeast Asia interested in equipping or updating yourself with current research and communication skills? Apply for the Wildlife Conservation Course 2018 now. In your Personal Statement, please tell us what motivates you and why you would like to attend this course. Course description: WCC is in its 4th year running and has been very successful in training conservation biologists from the wildlife departments of Southeast Asian countries and from non-governmental organisations such as WWF, WCS, FFI etc. This year, WCC will be held from 23rd July to 3rd August 2018 inclusive at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. There will be a one day break on 29th July. There are no course fees but participants will have to cover their own transport, sustenance costs and accommodation fees (accommodation is approximately 500RM for the entire two weeks). Developing research in wildlife conservation: the scientific process, survey and experimental design, conservation genetics, behavioural ecology B. Analytical skills: statistics with R, spatial analysis with QGIS, population viability analysis with Vortex, density estimation with spatially-explicit capture-recapture models, habitat use, activity patterns C.
