Full Journey Compilation in #12985 #Jaipur #Delhi AC #DoubleDecker Express | #IndianRailways A compilation of a journey from #Jaipur to #NewDelhi in 12985 Jaipur #DelhiSaraiRohilla AC #DoubleDeckerExpress. Undertaken on Christmas 2017, #Tughlakabad WDP-4B #40076 was in charge all the way. This compilation is somewhat unique in the fact that the Double Decker was delayed by 2.5 hours right from Jaipur itself due to late arrival of the corresponding DOWN train the previous night from Delhi. So one gets to see the entire section from Jaipur to Delhi in broad daylight which would not have been the case with its normal schedule in winter. We start off curving beneath the #PinkLine of #JaipurMetro and diverting from the branch line to #SawaiMadhopur at #BaisGodam and the halt at #JaipurGandhinagar where the train gets filled up. Therein a smooth run follows past the arid landscapes of #Rajasthan characterized by thorny bushes and multiple rocky outcrops of the Aravalli range. At #Bandikui Jn, we encounter an unscheduled halt to pass the #Guwahati #Bikaner Express and the #AjmerShatabdi, the latter turning up with a beautiful #Ludhiana WDM-3A. Before #Alwar we have a brief passage past the famous #SariskaNationalPark. At Alwar, we meet the #RanikhetExpress with a #Izatnagar WDP-4B. Post Alwar, the landscape begins to change gradually as the arid Rajasthan landscape gives way to the green and yellow mustard fields, an imminent sign of nearing #Haryana. We skip #Rewari, very much a part of Haryana, in a giant sweeping curve on the right and see the tracks to #Rohtak veer away to our left. Work in the tracks in post Rewari reduced our smooth run as we trudged along skipping #PataudiRoad at a sedate pace to end up in #Gurgaon some 3.5 hours delayed. The major highlight post Gurgaon was always going to be the passage past the #IndiraGandhiNationalAirport spotting fleets #AirbusA320 and #AirbusA321 of #AirIndia warming up for long journeys. A brief skip of #Palam followed we reached #DelhiCantonment at 1:30 pm at an overall delay of 3.5 hours.
