"niflhel" (Extreme Demon) by IShardI | Geometry Dash 2.11

I was asked to showcase this by the creator of the level, lShardl, so special thanks to them. It's a remake of the popular, old Extreme Demon "Niflheim". To be honest, I didn't remember much of that level's visuals nor gameplay. (I know, not based.) Watching this remake first, I found this to be a pretty good level on its own, but of course you need to see the original to get the full context to judge this. However, I've checked out the original now, and I still find this pretty good. It's clearly a remake of "Niflheim" based on the game modes for each part, how the general gameplay goes, and the theming of each part visually. At the same time, it doesn't rely too much on the original, making many adjustments, especially visually. This makes it a modernized version of the level, which is what I like to see in remakes of older levels. However, I can also see fans of the original not liking this as much since it doesn't have the same charm older levels do, so it's really dependent on who you ask. For a remake released in 2.11, I find it pretty good personally. One thing I do wish was changed personally is the transitions. Both the original and this remake have a lot of sudden transitions that use toggle triggers, which hurts the level's flow from part to part. Some may argue that this is a part of the original's charm that shouldn't be changed in a remake, but I think it'd be beneficial to change something like that. As for the gameplay within each part, it remains to be seen what players think of this. It's apparently a little bit easier than the original, so it should be a bit more accessible to the community. It seems like it will still be an Extreme Demon, though. I'm curious to know what people who have beaten both the original and this remake, especially those who are fans of the original, will think. That will give a better indication of how good of a remake this is, both in terms of visuals and gameplay, than I can give here.
