Japan Series EP 4 – Harry Potter Studio + Shibuya Madness | Tokyo Family Travel Vlog | Episode 4 Welcome back to the Japan Series, guys! Today’s episode is basically a rollercoaster: we start in Shinjuku like normal humans… and end the day roaming Hogwarts, crossing the world’s busiest crossing, meeting Japan’s most loyal dog, AND shopping like it’s Black Friday. So yeah — full masala episode. Let’s go. 🎬 How to Reach Harry Potter Studio from Shinjuku (Super Easy Route) Getting to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter from Shinjuku is actually simpler than explaining Indian traffic to foreigners. Route: Shinjuku → Ikebukuro JR Yamanote Line Takes about 8–10 mins Ikebukuro → Toshimaen Seibu-Ikebukuro Line About 15 mins Toshimaen Station → Studio Entrance 2–3 minute walk Follow signboards… even if you’re a muggle, you won’t get lost. 💴 Total Cost: ~¥350–¥400 per person 🎟 Tickets: I booked through Klook — super convenient, no drama, no queues. Klook literally saved the day (and my sanity). ✨ Inside the Harry Potter Studio – Pure Magic Overload You enter, and BAM — suddenly you’re not in Tokyo anymore. You’re basically a first-year at Hogwarts who missed the sorting ceremony because you were eating momos outside. Highlights: The Great Hall Walk-In Instant goosebumps. Feels like Dumbledore will give morning assembly any moment. Hogwarts Express Mandatory “leaning out of the train window pretending to be a movie star” moment. Butterbeer Expensive. Sweet. Instagram-worthy. End of review. Forbidden Forest Dim lights + fog = horror movie but with cute kids walking confidently. Spell Casting Practice Kids love it… adults love it even more. (I may or may not have gone full Voldemort for 30 seconds.) Props & Costumes Snape’s original robe = emotional trauma. Harry’s wand = childhood unlocked. The Shop Warning: This is where wallets cry. The studio is HUGE — easily 3–4 hours. If you're a Potter fan, this is not just a visit… it’s a pilgrimage. 🐶 Next Stop: Shibuya – The Land of Chaos & Cuteness After we escaped from Hogwarts (without using a broom), we headed straight to Shibuya Station. 📍 Hachiko Statue The cutest heartbreak story ever. Hachiko waited for his owner every single day for 9 years, even after the owner passed away. Full loyalty. Full emotion. Full “my eyes are sweating” moment. We clicked the classic “tourist with loyal dog statue” photo because… of course. ✨ Shibuya Crossing – Controlled Chaos at its Best Then we walked to the legendary Shibuya Scramble Crossing — the world’s busiest crossing. Light turns green and suddenly: Hundreds of people Zero collisions 10-second movie scene Tokyo vibes x1000 We crossed it like champions. Then we crossed again only to get B-roll shots for the vlog. Priorities. 👟 Onitsuka Tiger Shopping – India-Approved Purchase Next stop: Onitsuka Tiger. If you’re a sneakerhead, this is your moment of weakness. Cheaper in Japan More designs Better stock And “buy now think later” vibes Yes… I shopped. Yes… I regret nothing. 🛍 Mega Don Quijote Shibuya – The Final Boss of Shopping To end the day, we visited Mega Donki in Shibuya — the 7-floor maze where you enter for “one small thing” and come out with: KitKats Anime stuff Toys Skincare Snacks Random nonsense you don’t need but still buy Basically, a paradise for shopping… and a danger zone for bank accounts. 🎉 Ending the Vlog And that’s a wrap for Episode 4! From Hogwarts magic to Shibuya chaos — this day had EVERYTHING.
