SOUNDBITE (English) Camilla Johansson, Chicago resident: "To see them win was just like, just the cherry on top of how the Olympics have been going. I'm a huge Olympics fan, just in general. I love watching all the sports, but being somebody that grew up around hockey, my dad coached it, my mom's a figure skating coach, so just grew up as a rink rat and being around other people here to celebrate women's hockey is just amazing." 3. Wide of fans watching STORYLINE: The United States has won its third Olympic gold medal in women's hockey. Megan Keller backhanded in a shot 4:07 into overtime, and the Americans beat Canada 2-1 at the Milan Cortina Games on Thursday night to close another thrilling chapter of one of sports’ most heated rivalries. American captain Hilary Knight forced overtime by tipping in Laila Edwards’ shot from the blue line with 2:04 remaining. The goal was the 15th of her Olympic career and 33rd point to break the U.S. record in both categories. Fans in Chicago and Ontario, Canada, watched the game but reacted differently to the final result. Camilla Johansson, a Chicago resident, said it’s always a hard-fought battle between the two rivals. “The last time they won gold in PyeongChang, it went into a shootout. For this one to go to overtime just adds to the storied history of these two rivals going against each other. Neither team will ever give up on getting that gold,” Johansson said. Windsor resident Renaldo Agostino said nobody wants the silver medal. “You’re going to lick your wounds and come back four years from now stronger.” The U.S. previously won gold at the 1998 Nagano Games, the first to feature women’s hockey, and in 2018 in Pyeongchang.
