The Blue Mountains area is very picturesque and scenic in the summer months, during "apple season" in the autumn, and during ski season in Winter. But the town is most famous for these beautiful mountains. Though the name is Blue Mountains, it is an actual town in Grey County that consists of several small communities including Thornbury, Christie Beach, Clarksburg and some others. The parking at Blue mountains south base lodge is free. But you have to purchase tickets for the Open-Air Gondola Ride. The Gondola will take you to the top of the mountains then you can do ski or snowboarding down the hill. The ski activities continues till 9pm. Night skiing runs daily from 3:30pm until 9pm till March. You can checkout the ticket price and hours of operation of these gondolas at BlueMountain.ca If you don’t skiing or snowboarding, you can go to the Blue Mountain Village and enjoy a coffee at one of the cafes or a meal in one of the restaurants in the village. You can enjoy some horse car riding if you want at Blue Mountains.
