Some people know Râmnicu Vâlcea as “Hackerville,” but the reality is completely different. I found a peaceful, charming city with beautiful European architecture, especially in the Neo-Romanian style. The experience was even more magical thanks to the first snowfall of the year, turning everything into a winter wonderland. From flea markets to cultural and natural attractions, here’s what I explored: Flea Market & a Vintage Treasure – Among the stalls filled with unique and old items, I stumbled upon a Petri FT analog camera with a stunning 55mm f/1.8 lens. A real gem for film photography lovers! The market had that nostalgy, where every item has a story to tell. Muzeul Satului Vâlcean (The Village Museum) – A glimpse into Romania’s rural past, with traditional houses showcasing the way people lived centuries ago. Wooden shingles, authentic and historic details make this place feel like a time capsule. Ocnele Mari Salt Mine – A fascinating underground space where the salty air is great for your health. I was surprised by how many activities are available here—from playgrounds and sports courts to relaxation areas. A perfect mix of adventure and natural therapy! Hiking Up a Tall Hill – I embarked on a stunning hike, and nature rewarded us with breathtaking views. The fresh snowfall transformed the landscape into a winter fairytale, and the panoramic view from the top made every step worth it. Cozia Monastery – On the way, I made a stop at one of Romania’s most beautiful and historic monasteries. Located on the banks of the Olt River, Cozia Monastery stands out with its medieval architecture and serene atmosphere. A must-see for history and culture lovers! Back to Bucharest & Snow Cleanup – The trip ended with a classic winter challenge: clearing off a thick layer of snow from the car before heading home. A true winter experience to wrap up this road trip! A separate video about Cozia Monastery and the Village Museum will be available soon. #Debunking #hacker #cityexploration
