Once a year in the beginning of the spring we have to clean and lubricate our lawnmower. The biggest enemy is the lawn that comes through the motor with the air . The air comes from the bottom to the top by the two fans (lower and upper fan) and many peaces of lawn are crowded in the motor ( (witch is open all around to be cool ) and also are crowded on the top , under the top cover of the machine. We must get this cover off ( unscrew the screws) .We get off the cover of the upper fan (if there is one) We also unscrew the cutting knife and the lower fan. With an air compressor we clean everything very well. We lubricate the two bearings (of the axle of the motor) and if they are not in a good condition we change them by new ones.(to do this we must open the motor). Then we sharpen the knife or we change it (if it is enough thick). If the motor doesn’t starts easy or doesn’t work smoothly we have to change the capacitor. Prefer to buy machines with brushless motor . They need less maintenance . We put all the items back and the lawnmower is ready for another season.
