Welding rod tubes

All my welding rod packages are pretty beat up. I was looking for a ready solution for stick and tig welding rods storage. There is a lot of ready products where to choose. I counted all my different welding rods and realized that I need twenty tubes. So I decided to do those tubes myself. I have some leftover pvc pipe from construction sites. 75mm (3") is pretty good size for regular package of rods. I search caps for those tubes to prevent the stick rods from rusting. There is one that goes on top of the tube but that is too big. I want to put these tubes on a shelf in a row. So I search a cap inside the tube. I had no luck with those ones and then it hit me. Tobacco snus can fits perfectly inside the tube:lol: So I went thru my trash bin and search all the empty ones :D I removed the labels and glued one end of the tube shut. Then I made a small knob of a coach bolt in the caps. Rifle shell is a good hole bunch for soft materials. Just make sure that it's empty :D I made the tube length 52cm and cut all my tig welding rods in half. So they are 50cm now. I always cut those half so they are easier to handle and feed. Now they are ready to go. I labeled all the tubes, except one is for random bracing rods. Silver solder etc. I marked the manufacturer, type, size, and metal what it's suited for. Now I got all my welding rods sorted and labeled. Caps have pretty tight fit so the moisture won't ruin the rods. They are also safe from dust and dirt. Thanks for tuning in to my channel!
