Welcome to Episode 18 of our Animatronic Horror Bear Modeling Series! In this episode, we begin building the rig by creating animation controllers using NURBS circles in Autodesk Maya. These controllers allow animators to easily select, move, and rotate different parts of the character without directly manipulating joints. We walk through creating NURBS curve shapes, resizing and positioning them correctly, and organizing them so the rig remains clean and easy to use. This episode focuses on best practices for controller setup, helping ensure the rig is animator-friendly and ready for animation in future lessons.
