Masaka City Woman MP race vote recount unearthes gross mismatch in numbers

The vote recount for Masaka City Woman MP race is at 60% on the third day of the exercise, according to Masaka Chief Magistrate, Abert Asiimwe. The recount has unearthed gross mismatch in figures on the Declaration of Results (DR) Forms and the number of ballots found in the corresponding boxes. So far, six ballot boxes have been set aside after they were found in a suspicious condition, raising concerns of tampering. The recounting is being done in the presence of one of the contestants, (applicant) Justine Nameere of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
