St Peter's Churchyard July 2025

July was a very dry and hot month and some of the plants suffered, but others like the Wisteria came back into bloom! Some plants finished flowering earlier than usual and therefore the brambles, rosehips etc. will soon be ready for the birds and insects. The Chicken in the Woods Fungus has practically finished now, two months earlier than when it appeared in 2022! There were some lovely butterflies, and I've featured two in this slide show and then there was a visit from a dragonfly. It is interesting that Dragonflies always keep their wings open when they land, whereas Damselflies keep their wings closed! It was lovely to see the stained glass windows in the church lit up with natural light as the door was open! Music used: Quincas Moreira “Marigold” and Bensound “A Day to Remember”
