This DLA-RS57U was sent in after the owner purchased a new lamp that did not work. After determining the projector was the issue, it was shipped in for repair. Unfortunately it was slightly damaged on a corner in shipping, I did a short video on piecing that together and my adventure with CA glue and activator. • JVC DLA-RS57U Projector Shipping Dama... Here are pics of the shipping damage. https://imgur.com/a/FTGVo8q Being that this projector was made in 2013, the hope was to keep the repair "cost effective" so a different ballast was used. The original ballast costs about $375. The ballast I used sells for around $40. While it runs 20 watts less, it worked out just fine and looks great. I may do a video on repairing the ballast at some point but I think the issue is in the control section rather than the MOSFets since the Fets all checked out. I will add a link here if I complete this. You may notice some continuity issues. I either lost or didn't record parts originally so I re-opened the unit to show the ballast. I have run into this issue a few times before but never was able to complete a cohesive video. Hopefully this helps folks who run into this problem. It applies to a lot of JVCs.
