PACL Scam, a scam that defrauded 5.60 Crore people of over 50,000 Crore rupees and shook investors’ faith in the system. A scam that was started by a person who once worked as a milkman but how did he fool crores of people and the authorities for such a long time? What is PACL Scam? PACL scam which stands for Pearl Agrotech Corporation Limited was actually the name of the organisation in the centre of the whole scam. PACL Scam which was started by the scam mastermind Nirmal Bhangoo was started as a real estate company but soon became a tool for scamming people. PACl scam started when Nirmal Bhangoo started asking people to invest money in his “scheme” wherein, he claimed that he bought various pieces of land throughout the nation, which would then supposedly rise in value and give the investor returns. But the catch? These investors were never really given the full details of their investment. The company created a maze through various shell companies, agents and relatives which syphoned the money to the top of the pyramid to the mastermind of the scam. The mastermind, Nirmal Bhangoo, then used this innocent investors’ money to buy real estate throughout the globe and live a lavish lifestyle, that was, until he was caught.
