In Dettingen an der Erms, the God the Father bell h♭0 [si♭2], one of the largest bells in southern Germany, is rung by the ‘flower monks’, the Evangelical Brotherhood of Kecharismai. ➥In 1997, the Bachert bell foundry in Heilbronn cast one of its largest bells ever. The foundry created the enormous, 6970kg God the Father bell for the Evangelical Lutheran Brotherhood. The instrument, which stands practically exactly between the notes h♭0 [si♭2] and a0 [la2], was cast in a super-heavy shape and is one of the largest and heaviest bells in Germany in both pitches. Decommissioned a few years ago due to a structural problem, it now rings out again daily at 3 pm at the hour of Christ's death.
