If you follow this channel, you know I love mountain flying and crossing the Alps over different passes. This video shows yet another route crossing the Alps from Belgium to Italy. It was my longest and highest flight so far: 4 hours and 48 minutes between my home base EBAV Avernas in Belgium and BO06 Reno Air Club located in the Bologna control zone, right next to the international airport. Joining me this time was our friend Rita who enjoyed the view all the way. The aircraft is the Pipistrel Virus SWN80. It is a super traveler: average cruise speed was 199kph or 110kts with an average fuel burn of 12l/h. Yes, we burned only about 60 liters or 16 gallons for the 960km trip. Cool. Enjoy!
