Exactly 10 years after the murder of Olof Palme, suspect Christer A is filmed at the scene of the murder. In 2022, journalists Marc Pennartz and Peter Isaksson ask the police if they may see the video. But despite the court giving them the right to view the film, the police refuse to release it. Why? Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme was shot in 1986. Christer A was one of the main suspects during the investigation which eventually turned into a cold case. The police became suspicious of him because he owned the same type of weapon as the murderer. In The Lost Trail, we get for the first time the chance to follow the investigation of Christer A from the inside, see many released documents, visit Christer A's home and listen to what he says during questioning. The series also features interviews with leading investigators, experts and relatives of Christer A as well as an interview with the last man who ever talked to him. The Palme Assassination: The Lost Trail is an independent documentary series made 2022-2024 by Belgian-Dutch journalist/photographer Marc Pennartz and Swedish documentary researcher Peter Isaksson.
