PINASCO & POLINI do still use the old 80ies asso piston for their 200cc cylinder kit, technically the weakest of all 200cc pistons, which is NOT state of the are in 2018. It has a thin roof, rips for cooling are missing, an old top L piston ring (that was changed lately, 2 thin rings), big windows (esp the pinasco asso version), only small connections, and a lack of inner beams for strengthening the structure: pin eye does not have a connection to one side, its simply missing. see the X beam piston check: • VESPA piston X-BEAM check | GOOD vs BAD PI... proper pistons do have 4 beams: 2 from/towards the roof 2 to the piston skirt on the side. And there are good reasons for that, as the pin eye is the point of the highest force impact. Its anyways the classic piston design, just look at piaggio 125/150/200 or other pistons. Of course malossi, quattrini and grand sports GS are using this or a similar design with always 4 beams, to ensure stability of thr piston. Pinasco 213 piston history at the end of the video. 5 different pistons for the 213/215/225 kits since 1979. _________________________________________________________________ DISCLAIMER: the information shown in this video, is about THIS specific hardware. it is my personal observation documented with this video.
