Maintaining research integrity amid rapid technological and policy changes is increasingly difficult. A recent Springer Nature white paper highlights significant gaps between researchers' needs and the support they receive in research integrity training and related areas. Challenges include: establishing a core set of learning objectives to ensure a common understanding of research integrity, determining effective training modalities, developing methods to assess the integrity of research, and coordinating the activities of key stakeholders from across campus and beyond. The pending Public Access mandates from federal funders add additional challenges, but also present unique opportunities since the transparency of open scholarship practices lend themselves to compliance and to integrity. This panel will explore ways that libraries can help bridge these gaps by developing new services and reframing existing ones to play a pivotal role in fostering institutional support for research integrity.
