[4K] World of David Walliams at Alton Towers, join us for a tour of the World of David Walliams at Alton Towers to experience every ride, shop, and attraction in the immersive world inspired by David Walliams books. The World of David Walliams is a themed area at Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire, England. It opened on the 17th of May 2021 and is based on the popular books by author David Walliams. The area is designed to bring the characters and stories to life in an immersive and interactive way, with a variety of attractions and experiences. The main attraction in the World of David Walliams is Gangsta Granny: The Ride, a family-friendly dark ride, based on the Gangsta Granny book, that takes guests on a journey through the sewers and streets of London with Granny and her grandson Ben an attempt to steal the Crown Jewels. The ride features special effects, animatronics, and music composed by David Arnold, who also composed the music for the James Bond films. Besides Gangsta Granny: The Ride, attractions include Raj's Bouncy Bottom Burp (previously Frog Hopper), Royal Carousel (previously Galloper's Carousel) as well as a new ride, Flavio’s Fabulous Fandango. Flavio’s Fabulous Fandango is named after Flavio Flavioli from the Gangsta Granny book Cuckoo Cars Driving School is located next to Gangsta Granny: The Ride, but is technically in The Towers area. The area has had various names over the years including Cloud Cuckoo Land, Cred Street and The Land of Make Believe. The area was first built as Talbot Street in 1981, becoming the park's first themed area, home to the Around The World in 80 Days and Doom & Sons dark rides. Alton Towers has many rides and coasters including the New Nemesis Reborn, Congo River Rapids, Runaway Mine Train, Oblivion, Galactica, The Smiler, Wicker Man, Rita and TH13TEEN. There are ten roller coasters and a range of accommodation and lodging options alongside the theme park. Facilities include Alton Towers Waterpark, a crazy golf course, and a high ropes course. Alton Towers is also home to CBeebies Land, an area based on the BBC children's TV channel CBeebies. New for 2024, CBeebies Land now features the new CBeebies Logo and a Bluey Meet and Greet.
