On this trip through western Uganda, I took a late night drive into Fort Portal, a calm and scenic town known as Uganda’s Tourism City. We drove through Fort Portal, passed the historic Tooro Royal Palace, and continued through the breathtaking landscapes of western Uganda toward Kasese. By evening, we arrived near Queen Elizabeth National Park and the surrounding savannah and endless greenery were already stunning. For the evening, we checked into Dave the Cave Eco Lodge, nestled near crater lakes and forests, offering a truly unique and immersive nature experience.
