On this safari adventure in Queen Elizabeth National Park, I explored one of the most famous wildlife destinations in Uganda. This trip is a continuation of my journey through western Uganda (see Part 1 and Part 2). During our game drive through the savannah, we spotted an incredible variety of wildlife including lions, buffaloes, Uganda’s national bird the Crested Crane, waterbucks, and warthogs roaming freely across the plains. Along the way, we made a quick stop to see how Uganda’s most famous street food, the Rolex is made. Later, we took a boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel, the natural waterway connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. The channel is known for having one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, and we were able to see hippos, elephants, and an incredible variety of birds including the majestic Goliath Heron and the elegant Great Egret. We ended the day with a late lunch at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge, overlooking the Kazinga Channel where you can hear hippos in the distance while enjoying the view. If you’re planning a safari in western Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park offers an unforgettable mix of wildlife, landscapes, and unique experiences.
