San Diego Real Estate Market Update [05/06/2020]

We seem to be getting to a point of consistent confidence in our real estate market. Newly listed homes have been going up each week with plenty of those homes selling quickly. At this point in our market, it may be safe to say that we didn't hit what many were thinking. It felt like life itself stopped. I personally think the effects of social media and the amount of information we seek today, can create anxiety which leads to our minds drifting to the worst-case scenario. The bottom line is that San Diego is a very desirable area and why the home prices are so expensive compared to the nation. You may not agree with the cost but many people still buy homes. We see that in the strength of our market right now. When thinking about the real estate market and when to buy or sell, try not to think of it personally. Try instead to interpret the data. Right now the data and day to day experiences I am seeing, have shown me that we may see an increase in home prices in many areas of San Diego. Remember, the real estate market started technically dropping back in Nov 2005 until the bottom towards the middle of 2009. For those that were keeping an eye on the data in 2006, they would have had plenty of time to decide if selling was in their best interest. I don't see our current market relating to that time period in any way. I hope this can help to ease your concerns so you can make well informed real estate decisions!
