This used to be the second most RNG heavy IL in the game, but some rerouting improved the optimal RNG from 0,09% to 0,32% and made it faster in the process. (Disregarding a small detail, that I will come back to in a bit) The big changes are as follows: For 4-7-1 we go on tile further with Luigi, so that the first Valkyrie does not get the chance to shoot anymore. RM's position is slightly adjusted for a faster animation and in doing so removing a necessary crit. The second Valkyrie will now attack RM instead of Luigi decreasing the required (but not optimal) luck for the route. Burning the Peek-a-boo to the right area is still necessary (~12,5%) and for optimal luck you want to not get burned by the Valkyrie (~75%) and not crit the first two reaction shots, followed by a crit on the third shot (40% * 40% * 60%) In total this amounts to ~0,9%. For 4-7-2 there is a complete reroute that now only requires two 60% crits to hit and saves about 6 seconds. Hence for the entirety of 4-7 we get 0,32% beating out the current 2-4 route which is estimated at 0,3%, thus crowning 2-4 the current second most RNG heavy route of all IL's. There are also lots of small improvements in the run: Since some actions have to wait for the camera, the camera is generally managed in such a way that it takes as little time to reach its next destination as possible As small consistency improvement in 4-7-1 is when moving RM I let go of the left stick just before I reach the tile with Beep-O (and if necessary slightly delay my A press) so that there is no momentum storage to worry about in 4-7-2, since it has naturally fast entry. On 4-7-1 getting the burned Peek-a-boo to land on one specific tile can be slightly faster. If the Peek-a-Boo is diagonally left across from where Mario ends on you want to target that Peek-a-Boo instead, saving a little over 3 frames. The chances for that to happen are unknown, but given my attempts I would estimate it to be roughly 3%. Since it saves so little and is so unlikely it is probably not really worth going for. And of course the usual stuff, I have talked about a plenty in past videos (Quick Actions, Momentum Storage, Fast Scroll, Auto Scroll, Animation shenanigans, ...) What is still missing is FEG, which saves a bit of time in 4-7-1 With more and more discoveries the tech included in even short, single IL runs is getting a lot to keep track of and I won't always detail all of it, but here it seemed appropriate. Enjoy the run :)
