Apparently, the Super Sonic video for Sonic Riders (and its sequel--but I'll get to that later) have been very popular, and a new frequently asked question has popped up as of late: How do you unlock Super Sonic? This video is part of a series that will show the Gold rank for every mission in the game. Extra 4 is the last set of five missions. They cover the second half of the Babylon courses: Dark Desert, Sky Road, Babylon Guardian, and SEGA ILLUSION, with the final one in Sky Road. You may remember having to hit a lot of stone statues in a row in Mission 5 of Sand Ruins. Well, Knuckles is back to do it again in Dark Desert for Mission 1. The first set of stone statues will be just before the chamber area; get here quickly and destroy 7 stone statues before the combo counter stops to get the Gold. There is another set in the chamber worth Silver, and one last set in the town near the end worth Bronze. This is one of the toughest missions in the game, if you ask me, because the first set of statues are right after a hairpin turn, so you need to hit all the statues while correcting yourself. Even taking it easy will not be enough; you need to bust those statues within 24 seconds for the Gold, and doing so much as lining up Knuckles to get it started will ruin your chance. Sonic takes to Grinding in Sky Road for Mission 2. There's a helpful indicator to go right at the beginning; aim for the grind rail as Sonic falls off the jump to get started. This can be somewhat tricky as many of the gaps ar elocated on straightaways, where it's difficult to judge distance. There are 14 rails here total; get on them all for the Gold. There is a very rare black piece of junk on the 12th rail. Knuckles is back to busting some statues in Babylon Guardian in Mission 3. This is the last mission involving Knuckles in the game. And this one isn't really too difficult, as the whole thing is on a straightaway, so you'll be able to see what's ahead. Even those bombs shouldn't be relevant because you're aiming for the gargoyles anyway. Get the Gold by bashing through the first set at top speed. Mission 4 is in SEGA ILLUSION and takes Tails through flight hoops. This is Tails's last mission in this game. Go through 26 flight hoops to pass the mission; go through all 33 to get the Gold. If you've passed every Air Ride mission until now, then this should be a been-there-done-that affair, as there isn't anything too special about it. The final mission, Mission 5, is a race in Sky Road against the Babylon Rogues. Normally, Jet is ahead of Wave and Storm, but this time, for some reason, Wave is the one to beat. Treat this as any other race gainst computer players, and you'l be fine. In fact, you can pretty much ignore the Babylon Rogues after the second jump if you're ahead by then, and treat it as a one-lap attempt at your best time. To pass, come in 1st place. To get the Gold, finish a lap within 57 seconds. And there you have it! All of the missions in Sonic Riders and how to get the Gold on them. You can now unlock Super Sonic, if you haven't done so already.
