Onto the Wirral Line of Merseyrail and 1st visit to Conway Park on the lines towards New Brighton and West Kirby Conway Park is one of the youngest stations on the Merseyrail network opened by Neil Kinnock on April 24th 1998 however it wasn't until 2 months when it was opened to the public that being on June 22nd 1998 The station provides a convenient connection to nearby Birkenhead Town Centre than the two other stations its situated between which is Hamilton Square and Birkenhead Park. The station had to be constructed in a box downwards which enable the tunnel to be opened up with the line originally itself built by the Mersey Railway in the 1880s. At first was proposed to name it as Birkenhead Market however in the end it was named Conway Park after the nearby redevelopment of the North Side however the decision has come under heavy criticism due to not being particularly indicative to the station's location. Access to both platforms surprisingly is via Stairs and Lifts due to the tight confinement's of the station box. Like all Wirral Line services Both New Brighton and West Kirby services all originate from Liverpool Central via a loop line which diverges at James Street via Platform 3 after the line crosses under the River Mersey via the Queensferry Tunnel. From there the loop line only has 1 platform at Moorfields, Liverpool Lime Street and Liverpool Central At the time of filming the rolling stock Changeover on the Northern Line is ongoing however Class 507s and 508s continued to operate on the Wirral Lines however they are on borrowed time The Wirral Lines rolling stock changeover to the new Class 777 isn't due to begin until later 2023 according to Merseyrail although likely won't be until the changover is complete on the Northern Line and certain stations on the Wirral Lines will need upgrades for the new trains. Although times are due to change on the Wirral Lines however when that will be exact only time will tell.
