PRIME MINISTER DEMEANS HIS OFFICE Last week the Prime Minister labelled those who support Scotland’s right to become a normal self-governing independent country – around 50% of the Scottish population - as “dangerous extremists”. It seems that those who wish to rejoin the European Union are categorised in the same way. For a Prime Minister to try to discredit normal and peaceful political aspirations of whole swathes of those over whom his Government presides is deeply alarming and is a cause of concern for those of us who value robust, respectful political debate. Disappointingly but unsurprisingly, the Leader of the House did not indicate any disagreement with the Prime Minister’s hysterical remarks.
