I finished the arching on the back plate and cut the purfling slot, and installed the purfling. Next, I flipped the plate over and scooped out most of the wood.Now I am using my small planes to start to shape the inside, to the dimensions of thickness I want , with 2.5 mm around the edges and different measurements on the middle sections with 4mm being the thickest.
