From the American University of Beirut they present us the following product in the frame of the "Heritage Guardians" Campaign: Mulberry syrup: Mulberry syrup or “Sharab al toot” is one of the most traditional Lebanese beverages. It is a syrup which can be diluted in water to make a sweet and tangy beverage that is known for its invigorating properties. Mulberry fruits are generally consumed as fresh fruits, jams and juices. Mulberries are high in antioxidants which have an important role in fighting infections and inflammations. They are also an excellent source of vitamin C and are a natural diuretic. Although it is mainly used to make refreshing drinks, it can also be used as a topping on ice cream, cakes, and yogurt.
