Let's try out the Nikon Z6 filmmaker's kit and bring the Canon EOS M50 along on the testing ride! I look at the included gear and do a bunch of video tests while trying to figure out how everything works. I haven't used a recorder like the Ninja V before, but now I see how versatile gear like that is in practice. This kit comes with the Nikon Z6 body, 24-70mm f4 kit lens, Atomos Ninja V monitor/recorder, Rode VideoMic Pro+, a Moza Air 2 3-axis gimbal, a f-mount to Z mount adapter, and a few other accessories. My main video idea for the kit didn't happen, but I did spend a few days of quality time trying out the Z6 with the Ninja V along side the Canon EOS M50 with a 22mm f2 lens and 32mm f1.4 lens (plus a few b-roll cameras for good measure). I record with the Z6 itself, the Ninja V in the three Prores options, and with the Rode mic. Both at 1080p and 4k with all clips recorded at 23.97 frames per second. I did set up the entire kit on the gimbal, but didn't have a chance to use it in a real filmmaker's setting. I also test out the Rode VideoMic Pro+ with its safety track feature and the +20db gain setting. There is a lot to go over! I tried to include everything I could think of with a more versatile start rather than having a gimbal. My lens differences increase the price, but I'd rather have that 14-30mm f4 instead of the kit lens... Amazon Items: https://www.amazon.com/shop/scottwald... I uses a WD Blue 500GB SSD drive that worked fine at maximum quality prores 4k 10-bit HQ. No USB AC adapter for the gimbal charger. No USB AC adapter for the Rode VideoMicro Pro+ No XQD memory card. No ND/VND filters for the 24-70mm kit lens. (unconfirmed) Apparently the kit doesn't come with the proper cable to connect the Z6 to it. I didn't verify this.I'm pretty sure this is my first 4k upload! The render ended up being 6.27GB (80.9GB project size). Prores video files seemed to work pretty well with Magix Vegas Pro 15. The two lower bit-rate versions appeared to play back smoother than the M50 4K footage in the NLE. Errata: In one split screen test I had the M50 labeled as F/2.5, but it was actually at F/1.4 as I said in the audio at the time. #NikonZ6FilmmakersKit #NikonZ6 #AtomosNinjaV I hope you enjoyed this video.
