Shelter, Safety & Smiles: HSF Builds Two Bamboo Homes for Refugee Families

Two new bamboo homes were handed over today to the families of Arjan Ji Meera Behan and Preetam bhai Amrawanti behan, thanks to the generous support of Sh. Ramesh Chandiramani Ji, Sh. Ghanshyam Ji and the Hindu community of Ceuta, Spain. Their kindness has given these families dignity, protection and a renewed sense of safety. But behind the smiles in this video lies a painful reality: 🔴 Two family members have been hospitalized for the last one month: Chandni, the 5 years old daughter of Preetam & Amrawanti, is still in the hospital. HSF has already provided ₹17,500 in cash help for her treatment. Sagar, the teenage son of Arjan Meera family, is also hospitalized. From the hospital, Meera behan sent us a heartfelt thank-you video, expressing gratitude even in her pain. This video shows clearly why bamboo homes are essential and not just a temporary arrangement. Unlike tent jhuggis, bamboo homes provide: ✔ Protection from mosquitoes, snakes, bugs, rain ✔ A feeling of home, safety, and privacy ✔ Stability for children, elderly, and the sick After the floods, hundreds of residents in this camp have fallen ill or been hospitalized. The suffering is worse because families are still living in tents without proper shelter. We urgently need support to build more bamboo homes. The video also reveals the financial crisis these families are facing after Operation Sindoor restrictions, which destroyed their livelihoods and small earnings.
