Speaker Bio Silvia Ramos did her undergraduate Physics degree at the University of Salamanca (Spain) and her PhD at the University of Bristol. She gained additional experience in large facilities techniques while working as a PDRA at the ESRF and the University of Birmingham. Silvia was a beamline scientist at B18 at Diamond between 2008 and 2013, when she took a position at the University of Kent. She is currently the Head of Physics and Astronomy there and continues to do research in the link between properties and structure in materials using large facilities.
