Hi! I’m Tammy Salamone, The Pink Survivor, and this is, “The Year I Wish I Could Erase." This is the fifth video in my series going through my entire breast cancer story. #breastcancerreconstruction #genetictesting #plasticsurgeryaftermastectomy In this video I'm talking about when I met with a genetic counselor and meeting my plastic surgeon, radiation doctor and oncologist for the first time. At the time I wasn't sure whether I should do genetic testing. Also, I had no idea there were so many different kinds of breast reconstruction available. I was moving so quickly, I trusted the doctor knew what he was talking about and unknowingly made my decisions. I have been married to my very patient and loving husband, Dean, for over 26 years and we have three beautiful daughters together. I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and I’m confident my fitness level helped me before, during and after my breast cancer diagnosis. In early 2017, I was told I had an early stage breast cancer and then things began to spiral and overtook my entire life for almost two years. I’m telling my story today to help others going through the same thing and offer hope, that in time, life will be ok again. Thank you for being here!
