Hello and welcome. In this video I show how to make a spinning top toy with a go faster handle using Zebrano and walnut on the wood turning lathe. I had one of these as a kid and it's been on my list of things to turn for a long time. Originally this was going to be all walnut as I picked up a box of end pieces and offcuts from ebay however, finding a fault while turning the top caused the stem to snap, so it became zebrano. All done between centres with no chuck required although, I did mount the drive spur in the chuck as I am lazy and didn't want to take it off. Finished in flaxseed oil before it's spinning debut at the end which is cut down slightly as this thing goes for a aaaages!
