Bedruthan steps is a lovely little route. You could visit Mawgan Porth beach and hire a sand wheelchair then do this one. Then if you wish just down the road is Park Head a longer flat coastal route. (it does have 3 gates with special handles. So depending on your grip or if you have someone with you. Where is it? North Cornwall near Mawgan porth and Newquay Airport. Car Park post code: Its the Carnewas NT car park and cafe. PL27 7UW This is the National Trust Car Park, Pay for parking unless your a member. Blue badge are free according to NT 6 disabled bays This is a fairly big car park Disabled toilets? YES there is a really good one with plenty of access. Please note that this is only open when the cafe is now. From 10.30am Cafe or drink food facility? Yes opens at 10.30 There are 8 large tables inside. All level flooring but when it is busy it can be a bit tricky to manoeuvre. Outside seating too with tables extra for wheelchairs to move closer too. There is a NT shop and this is accessible next to it are some picnic benches on the grass area. No Tramper or Wheelchair hire Terrain: tarmac, loose gravel EASY Moderate Scenery: Coastal Shelter? There are no places to take shelter only the cafe or shop. Again if it is busy inside then there isn't a lot of room to move about. Experience: This is a lovely little route that has been recently made into an easy access wheelchair route. Its great to be able to say you have been on part of the SWCP as at the moment there aren't many. Great terrain with a slight slope. Please be mindful of the weather as it can get quiet blowy and cold or very hot in the sun as there is no shade or protection. Dogs are recommended to be kept on leads and please be aware that the coastal path does have adders sleeping in the undergrowth and they like the sun too. Great to have a sit with your loved ones and you can also get to the amenities and get a takeaway drink too. I just love this area and it always takes my breath away every time I come here. The view is just incredible. The Beach wheelchair can be hired from Betty's Mawgan Porth 2 minutes down the road Here is the link to the video we did. • TRYING A BEACH WHEELCHAIR OUT ON BEAUTIFUL... Many other beaches have them too :)
