Join us on an unforgettable day trip from Almaty as we cover Charyn Canyon, Black Canyon, Kaindy Lake, and Kolsai Lake, with a traditional Kazakh lunch in Saty Village. The details of the tour operator we went with is given in the Previous Episode. 🚙 After exploring Charyn Canyon, we drive through the stunning Black Canyon and hop into a Soviet-era jeep to reach the Kaindy Lake trailhead. The hike is tiring but rewarding—the turquoise lake with its sunken forest is pure magic. 🍲 In Saty Village, we enjoy a delicious Kazakh feast—plov, breads, salads, pirozhki, sweets, local tea, and more. Just as we eat, heavy rain pours down, adding to the adventure. ❄️ Next stop: Kolsai Lake. The rain leaves the air freezing cold, the wind wild, and yet the lake is breathtakingly beautiful.
