Come with me to Chioggia, a quiet fishing port in the north-east of Italy, on the Adriatic sea coast, by the southern end of the Venetian lagoon. This small town is a hidden gem which has managed to preserve its authentic feel. The canals and the narrow streets will make you feel like you are in Venice, but a more quiet and calm version of it! Chioggia is located on two islands about 900 metres long and 200 metres wide, separated by the so-called "Channel Vena". A wide main street (Corso del Popolo) stretches for 840 meters, from the "Porta Garibaldi" to the Vigo bridge, at the other end of the main island. And then 74 small streets are positioned perpendicularly on both sides of the main street, while three canals run through the historic centre.
