Alright guys, so a couple of years ago I came up with the idea of creating my own Fighting Manual, inspired and influenced by the original pugilism manuals from the 1700's and 1800's, such as Daniel Mendoza's "Art of boxing". I had a great response to my initial footage, and the series on YouTube that kickstarted it all, is still very popular years later. However when it came to putting pen to paper, I struggled very much. I found myself lost in the details -struggling to see the wood through the trees, and it didn't take long before I was completely overwhelmed with the immensity of the challenge I had given myself. On top of that, "real life" then interposed, distracting me with issues that simply needed handling. But at long last, I feel more settled within my mind, with a passion burning strong to recommence this worthy challenge. Learning from my prior mistakes, I have already come up with an overall structure for the book (the manual aspect of it), and feel now I can make steady progress. I filmed this video, introducing you guys, to what that plan is, and also encouraging you to get involved in your own way also. Now is the time, if you wish, to let me know what coverage you would like to see both within the book and also in the accompanying YouTube series. I cannot necessarily include all suggestions, but those that I can adapt, I will endeavor to do so. From Strikes, to clinch and inplay (dirty moves), a basic structure and plan has been created. I've also considered ideas for what should be Included in the "History of Pugilism" aspect More formal write ups have been done for the Chancery (aka fibbing) also. Still a rough work in progress regards the Chancery, but a good start that will act as a foundation for the final write up. Photography and filming will begin in two weeks. This will be done in parts, to allow video content and photographic media to be shared as regular updates, as progress is made.
