Throughout Church History, Lent is a significant season in the year—a period of 40 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. It is a time of preparation as Christians all over the world devote themselves to prayer, fasting, meditation, and self-reflection to draw near to God. To remember the love of God that is poured out through Christ Jesus on the cross in His death; and His defeat of death, sin and Satan in Christ's death and resurrection that brings Eternal Life to you. On Easter Sunday, our sadness is turned to joy as we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Holy Week is the last week of Lent. It begins on Palm Sunday, April 2 the week before Resurrection Sunday (Easter) on April 9. We observe Holy Week as a time to remember the suffering and death of Jesus. This year during Lent, we will be seeking God's Presence as a church body in 3 ways: prayer, fasting, and the Word. We will be seeking God's Presence through individual and corporate prayer, fasting (abstaining from something to reduce distractions and focus more on God), and the study of God's Word. Below is our Lenten booklet that include specific guidelines for the 3 ways we are seeking God's Presence together. We hope that you can join us in our effort to draw near to God this Lent as we journey towards the cross together. Our booklet can be used alone or with a Life Group.
