Police Arrest Girl After Crashing Jetski Into Dock After Partying

Body cam Video of Police Arresting Girl For Crashing Into Dock Like Wrecking Ball. 7/3/22, at approximately 1816 hours, Senior Officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) was conducting water patrol with another officer when they received a call from FWC dispatch regarding a boating accident on Lake Alto. The report indicated a jet ski had crashed into a dock, and witnesses claimed the operator had been drinking alcohol. The officers, in coordination with local police, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they were able to review the situation with police, relying on both witness accounts and body cam video from other responding police officers. The police made contact with the owners of the dock and the vessel that the jet ski had struck. After assessing the scene, police asked for details about the damage, which was captured on body cam video. The operator of the jet ski was identified and, following further questioning, police began a field sobriety test. The operator was cooperative, and all interactions were recorded on body cam video for police documentation purposes. During the investigation, police used the body cam video to capture the Standardized Field Sobriety Tasks (SFSTs), which were conducted to evaluate the operator’s impairment. As the police continued their investigation, the operator was arrested for boating under the influence, and police officers ensured that this process was also captured on body cam video. In addition to the field investigation, police were informed by a passenger that the operator had purchased alcohol for him, further corroborating the suspicion of alcohol use.
