#Kapalabhati #Pranayama #AnulomaViloma DOWNLOAD MY FREE BOOK ON MY WEBSITE Courses at www.MarcosWelsh.com Conscious breathing, or pranayama, is one of the most powerful tools we have to balance the body, mind, and emotions. Through control of the breath, we directly influence our internal systems — regulating heart rate, blood pressure, and the flow of vital energy. The breath is the first wheel in the mechanism that sets all other functions of the body into motion. When we breathe consciously, we activate a deep process of self-regulation and inner balance. With each inhalation and exhalation, we regulate the circulatory, hormonal, and endocrine systems, bringing balance to brain chemistry and neurotransmitters. We also improve cellular oxygenation, which optimizes the function of all organs and tissues in the body. Through these practices, we not only nourish the physical body, but also calm the mind and stabilize the emotions. In this session, we will practice two rounds of circular breathing, each ending with Kapalabhati and a few rounds of Bhastrika. We will then do a longer round of Kapalabhati, including breath retentions with both empty and full lungs. We’ll finish with Anuloma Viloma — alternate nostril breathing — inhaling for four counts, holding for sixteen, and exhaling for eight. Notice how, as you progress, your system harmonizes and you experience greater clarity, calm, and energy. Let’s begin the practice. Take care of yourself: If you are pregnant or have epilepsy, do not practice these breathing exercises. If you have heart issues, high or low blood pressure, or any serious medical condition, consult your doctor before starting. Always listen to your body. Do not force yourself. If you feel dizzy, overwhelmed, or unwell, stop immediately and rest. Never perform breathwork while driving, swimming, diving, bathing, or in any situation where losing consciousness could be dangerous. What you might feel: It is normal to experience sensations like tingling, lightheadedness, or even a slight buzzing in the ears during practice. These responses are common when oxygen and energy flow increase. If it becomes too intense, simply stop, sit quietly, and breathe normally. Remember: this practice is a way to connect with yourself — safely and respectfully. Move gently, with awareness.
